Senior System Engineer Network

Certifications:

Single operating systems cert on a major platform (MCSE or CNE)

Experience:

  • OS Installation, configuration (server and workstation), trouble-shooting,  

  • Switches, hubs, cabling, Strong TCPIP  

  • Technical lead for more junior engineers. 

  • Typically requires BS in Computer Science, engineering or related field.

  • Typically requires 2-3 years experience in LAN/WAN network installation.

Description:

Advises clients on necessary technology to achieve their goals.

Performs pre-sale consulting of LANs/WANs through expert knowledge of a single NOS.

Contributes to the RFP process by accurately estimating SE services.

Conducts training programs for clients and other SE’s.

Forwards opportunities to sales.

Improves client satisfaction in projects by providing quality service with no valid complaints.

Performs lead technical role on designated projects.

Provides supervision and direction to project team members.

Keeps up with industry by reading trade journals and product manuals and attends vendor events.

Maintains certification with each of the primary connectivity vendors.

Ensures responsible ongoing expense control measures, such as consolidation of travel needs.

Develops a personal account and time management program in order to increase productivity.
